We are proud to boast of the antebellum home, Madewood Plantation just two miles south of the town of Napoleonville.   This National Historic Landmark on Bayou Lafourche is rich in history and returns you to the gracious living of the past. Overnight accomodations available.Christ Episcopal Church stands as a monument to the history of the Civil War and is located in the town of Napoleonville. Union soldiers used this church as a stable during the war. The recently renovated Atkapas landing bordering Lake Verret provides a public boat landing along Lake Verrett.The Island of the Blessed Virgin Mary is an enshrined landmark created soon after the Civil War.  This tiny island, which lies along Pierre Part Bayou and Bay, can be seen from the shoreline in  different locations.  An outdoor mass is held yearly during the month of May.St. Elizabeth Catholic Church is a large brick basilican plan Gothic Style church located in Paincourtville.  St. Elizabeth is one of the  largest historic buildings in Assumption Parish, and contains the most elaborate interior decorative paintwork in the parish.Lying east of the Atchafalaya Floodway system levee, near the town of Pierre Part is a beautiful system of waterways referred to as the Lake Verret - Belle River area. Being in such close proximity to the Atchafalaya Basin, this area is very popular with Louisiana anglers. Conveniently located along LA Hwy 70, Cajun Cabins at Bayou Corne is a great place to stay no matter what your interests. For the serious fisherman, the weekend family angler, or two sweethearts looking for a quite getaway.
